| Quadratic Sound Diffusers are designed for any music
facilities requiring outstanding acoustical performance. Quadratic Diffusers offer maximum
sound diffusion with minimum sound absorption over a broad sound band providing for
balanced sound throughout the room. They can be used in conjunction with AR's Interactive
System absorber wall panels which help control room liveliness. Product Description:
Quadratic Sound Diffuser Panels are constructed of rigid fiberglass, molded in a
one-piece special shape with a select set of well depths. Based on quadratic residue
sequences of an elementary number theory, sound from any direction can be uniformly
scattered into many directions with the quadratic diffuser. Diffusers help maintain the
clarity and help to eliminate poor sound reflection patterns from flat ceiling surfaces.

Mounting:
Installed in Heavy Duty 15/16" wide lay-in ceiling panel grid system. All grid to be
ASTM C635 heavy duty main runners and 48" tees with hanger wire spacing 24" on
center. All grid provided by others.
Q44 Wall Mount Surround (QWS) required for wall mount
applications. Internal wall bracing may be required to support Q44.
Flammability:
All Quadratic diffuser components have a Class "A" (0-25) Flame Spread rating
per ASTM E-84.

DIFFUSER INSTALLATION
QUADRATIC CEILING DIFFUSERS ARE DESIGNED FOR LAY-IN APPLICATION INTO A 15/16" WIDE,
HEAVY DUTY GRID SYSTEM. THE HEAVY DUTY GRID SYSTEM SHOULD BE CAPABLE OF SUPPORTING 55 LBS.
IN A 48" X 48" CONFIGURATION OF MAIN RUNNERS AND 48" TEES. HANGER WIRE
SPACING 24" O.C.
IF THERE ARE ANY CONCERNS OF THE CARRYING
CAPACITY OF THE GRID SYSTEM, THE QUADRATIC DIFFUSER SHOULD BE SUSPENDED INDEPENDENTLY OF
THE GRID SYSTEM BY ATTACHING HANGER WIRE TO THE BACK BRACING OF THE DIFFUSER.
